HFMA Executive Survey: Value-Based Payment Readiness
Sponsored by Humana
As hospitals and health systems prepare for growth in value-based payment, it will be key for them to anticipate the level at which the industry is expecting contracts to incorporate value-based mechanisms in the near future. Also important will be understanding how their readiness efforts compare with others in such key areas as interoperability, ability to assess ROI from efforts, access to appropriate business intelligence, and ability to support chronic care management.
With this in mind, HFMA researchers, with sponsorship from Humana, surveyed senior finance executives about their organizations’ readiness efforts to date, anticipated progress, need for value-driving competencies in three years, areas where readiness gaps are most likely, ROI of efforts to date, and factors that will best enable them to accept risk under value-based arrangements.
