We need to talk about your flair: HFMA’s new digital badges are here
For me, one of the most thrilling aspects of HFMA’s digital transformation is our new digital credentialing program for displaying your HFMA achievements through digital badges.
Earners can display their badges as a symbol of accomplishment in email signatures, electronic resumes and social media profiles and to gain recognition for attaining a new level of proficiency or specific skill set. The badge icon includes descriptive metadata, providing verification of learner competencies and protection for the integrity of the HFMA credential. HFMA members may now benefit from more than 10 tangible, unique digital credentials, with the badge icons created by HFMA’s in-house designers.
These new digital badges are available for all of HFMA’s current certificate and certification programs, including Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), Fellow of HFMA (FHFMA) and HFMA’s Business of Health Care, with more digital credentials to come as we plan the future of HFMA’s programs.
In tandem with the launch of the Association’s new website in June, HFMA issued more than 9,000 HFMA certification digital badges to legacy certified members. Then, at HFMA’s Annual Conference in late June, we announced the credentialing program via a press release, and from the HFMA booth, we offered conference attendees promotional materials, such as digital badge stickers, “Share Your Credentials” mints and an informational handout.
I was part of the HFMA booth team this year, and it was very rewarding to chat with HFMA certified members and hear about how much they loved the new digital badges. And many are already sharing their badges on social media. In fact, about 14% of HFMA certified members have already shared an HFMA certification badge on LinkedIn.
Managing this project was a huge, interesting and rewarding undertaking, especially knowing the end goal would enhance the HFMA member education experience by providing exclusive HFMA portable credentials.
