LTC 2019 networking event benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities
This year’s HFMA Leadership Training Conference (LTC) gave its 66 Chapters a taste of what it means to not only work hard but also play hard with its networking event. HFMA partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities, which has 165 houses across the country, to provide a more community-focused activity with a local feel.
The Chapters collaborated within each of the 11 Regions and worked in stations to put toiletries, coloring books, crayons and other goods into a care package for each house. There were anywhere from seven to 29 houses per Region, but with 100% participation by LTC attendees, the job was completed and the care packages were sent the following day.
After participating in the charity event, various Chapters and Regions then transitioned to the next activity, which has gained momentum in recent years. Several teams performed a song, cheer or chant in front of a panel of four judges:
- Joseph J. Fifer, FHFMA, CPA, President & CEO, HFMA
- Kevin F. Brennan, FHFMA, CPA, 2018-2019 Chair, HFMA
- Michael M. Allen, FHFMA, CPA, 2019-2020 Chair, HFMA
- Tammie L. Galindez, FHFMA, MHA, 2019-2020 Chair-Elect, HFMA
“I was impressed by the energy displayed by every leader there,” Fifer said.
Congratulations to the Arizona chapter for winning the Chapter contest and to Region 11 for winning the regional contest.
