December 2, 2024 9:32 am

OSF HealthCare in Peoria, Ill., has named Kirsten Largent, CPA, as its new CFO. She has been with OSF since 1993 in a variety of positions, most recently as senior vice president of financial operations. Prior to that, Largent served as vice president of financial planning and analysis. She has more than 30 years of experience in business and the healthcare industry, including three years in public accounting.

“At the heart of OSF is the mission of serving with the greatest care and love, and it has been my honor to serve the mission for so many years,” said Largent. “In my new role as CFO, my focus will be on financial strategies that position the ministry to invest in strategic growth and continue to strengthen OSF’s financial position.”

Largent succeeds Michael Allen, FHFMA, CPA, MHA, who resigned after accepting the CFO position with Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey. Allen had been serving as CFO at OSF since 2015. During that time, he set the system on a path of improved financial performance and balance-sheet stability, established a capital management committee to oversee strategic and market investments, and led OSF’s more than 1,600 finance division employees as they navigated the COVID-19 crisis and resulting financial challenges.

There is so much that can be said about the care OSF delivers every day to over one million people in a faith-based healing environment,” said Allen. “I have so much respect for what our physicians, nurses and all clinical providers do for our patients every day. And I can’t wait to watch and listen for all that OSF does to bring healing and peace to our communities.”

Both Largent and Allen are members of HFMA’s Greater Illinois Chapter. Allen also served as HFMA’s National Chair from 2019 to 2021 — a rare two-year term due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
