Todd Hofheins, CPA, recently was promoted from CFO to COO of Adventist Health, a nonprofit organization operating in more than 80 communities on the West Coast and Hawaii. Hofheins, a member of HFMA’s Washington-Alaska Chapter, has vast experience in operations and financial accountabilities as well as payer relationships and strategy.
Prior to joining Adventist Health, he served as executive vice president and CFO of HealthPartners, the nation’s largest nonprofit consumer-governed healthcare organization.

John Beaman, MBA, has stepped up into the CFO role at Adventist. Prior to the move, Beaman served as system chief business and people officer, system senior finance officer and CFO of Adventist Health hospitals in Bakersfield and Simi Valley, California.

Beaman is a member of HFMA’s Northern California Chapter.
Terri Hays is new Saltzer Health CFO
Terri Hays, MBA, has been named CFO at Saltzer Health, an Intermountain Healthcare company with providers and facilities throughout Southwest Idaho.
A skilled senior executive with 20 years’ experience in accounting and finance, Hays previously served as CFO at Rainier Springs Behavioral Hospital in Vancouver, Washington, and Haven Behavioral Hospital in Meridian, Idaho.
She also served as interim CFO for Lecom Health at Mill Creek Community Hospital, in Erie, Pennsylvania. Hays is a member of HFMA’s Western Pennsylvania Chapter.
Emanate Health appoints Leon Choiniere as CFO
Emanate Health in Covina, California, recently named Leon Choiniere, FHFMA, CPA, as its new CFO.
Choiniere, a member of HFMA’s Southern California Chapter, brings more than three decades of hospital finance experience and leadership to the position. Prior to joining Emanate, he was with St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, California, where he served eight years as controller, followed by six years as CFO.
Choiniere also has held senior finance leadership positions at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles and Antelope Valley District Hospital in Lancaster, California.
Dan Bugarin named as Savista’s chief commercial officer
Daniel (Dan) Bugarin recently joined Savista, a healthcare revenue cycle management services company based in Alpharetta, Georgia, as chief commercial officer.
Bugarin will report directly to Savista CEO Jan Grimm and will lead and support the commercial organization’s strategy to provide clients with solid partnerships that build their financial sustenance and result in positive patient experiences.
Bugarin previously served as a vice president of revenue cycle management services for OptumInsight and as regional vice president of CareMedic Systems, Inc. At the beginning of his career, Bugarin gained hands-on experience, serving in several healthcare revenue cycle management roles. He is a member of HFMA’s Hawaii Chapter.
