As of Q1 2024, HFMA offers nine certifications for members to validate their expertise and demonstrate their commitment to the profession, including the newest certification: the Executive of Healthcare Revenue Cycle (EHRC).
The HFMA certifications are as follows: Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) – GCC, Certified Specialist Accounting and Finance (CSAF), Certified Specialist Business Intelligence (CSBI), Certified Specialist Physician Practice Management (CSPPM), Certified Specialist Payment and Reimbursement (CSPR), EHRC, and Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA), which supersedes CHFP.
New EHRC certification
Although there is no exam to achieve the new EHRC designation candidates must meet all five of the service and education requirements prior to applying. HFMA membership is required to maintain the designation. For more details about this new certification, which demonstrates excellence in revenue cycle, visit hfma.org/certifications.
