Lisa Goldstein, MPA, a leading expert in not-for-profit healthcare, has joined Kaufman, Hall & Associates, LLC, as a senior vice president.
Goldstein previously was an associate managing director for Moody’s Investors Service, where she managed the agency’s U.S. not-for-profit healthcare ratings team and oversaw the accuracy, consistency and monitoring of its not-for-profit hospital ratings. Goldstein also assessed the financial performance of healthcare organizations and served as a deputy chair of Moody’s U.S. corporate social responsibility effort.
In announcing Goldstein’s new position, Kenneth Kaufman, founder and chair of Kaufman Hall, said the firm is thrilled to have her coming aboard. “Among her many national speaking engagements, Lisa has contributed tremendously to our annual Healthcare Leadership Conference meetings over the years, and she will be a significant asset to our team and our clients,” Kaufman said.
Goldstein is a regular keynote speaker and award-winning writer on not-for-profit healthcare, credit assessment and other topics. Among her many volunteer roles, Goldstein is a former member of HFMA’s National Board of Directors. She also is a current member of HFMA’s Metropolitan New York Chapter.
John Dalton co-authors book
A former National Director of HFMA, John Dalton, FHFMA, MBA, has co-authored a book titled Healing American Healthcare — Lessons from the Pandemic. It traces the course of the worst global pandemic in more than a century from New Year’s Eve 2019 to September 2021 through the eyes of the journalists who reported on it. The book is dedicated to the healthcare workers who have perished from COVID-19.
Dalton has had an extensive career in healthcare operations and finance and currently serves as executive director of the Healing American Healthcare Coalition. He served on HFMA’s National Board of Directors from 1994-1996 and received the 2001 Frederick C. Morgan Individual Achievement Award, HFMA’s highest honor given to an individual in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Association over the course of a career.
Dalton is a member of HFMA’s New Jersey Chapter.
Steve Lutfy has new role with FTI Consulting
Steve Lutfy, FHFMA, recently accepted a new position with FTI Consulting, Inc., as a senior managing director in the company’s Health Solutions practice.
A healthcare revenue cycle expert, Lutfy has 40 years of experience in providing and implementing revenue cycle solutions for clients across the healthcare continuum — from academic medical centers to health systems. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, he was the founder and leader of a 1,000-seat accounts receivable third-party outsourcing center at a Big Four consulting firm.
“Having worked on both sides of the desk, I pride myself on being able to bring a unique perspective to clients’ varying revenue cycle needs,” said Lutfy, a member of HFMA’s South Carolina Chapter. “I am pleased to have the opportunity to leverage my background as a member of FTI Consulting’s Health Solutions team.”
