Jefferson County Health Center (JCHC) recently welcomed Brent Feickert, MBA, as its new CFO. In addition to providing fiscal leadership for Iowa’s oldest county hospital, Feickert will oversee several departments at JCHC, including the business office, main hospital registration, materials management and environmental services.
A current member of HFMA’s Iowa Chapter, Feickert has more than 22 years of experience working in various healthcare organizations, including 16 years in leadership roles in Iowa and Minnesota. He also is a retired member of the Army National Guard and a former firefighter.
Bryan Hunger, JCHC CEO, said he knew Feickert would be a great fit.
“When we selected a new chief financial officer, we wanted to make sure that this leader would be good fit for our community and organization and that there was alignment with our mission, vision and values,” said Hunger. “We want the CFO to be just as excited and passionate about healthcare services in a rural community as we are.”
Stacie Mason is new CFO at Stormont Vail Health
Stormont Vail Health, an integrated healthcare system based in Topeka, Kansas, has hired Stacie Mason, MBA, as senior vice president and CFO. Mason, a member of HFMA’s Oklahoma Chapter, previously was vice president of hospital finance at Integris Health in Oklahoma City ― the state’s largest health system ― where she provided financial oversight for 11 hospitals. She also has served as CFO at both Saint Francis Health System in Tulsa and Southwestern Memorial Hospital, in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Teresa Donohue named CEO of Bertrand Chaffee
Bertrand Chaffee Hospital and Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home have promoted Teresa Donohue, MHA, from CFO to CEO. As CFO for the rural acute and long-term healthcare complex in Springville, New York, Donohue managed financial operations and strategic planning for both organizations. She also co-authored and implemented an $11.3 million grant to construct the Bertrand Chaffee Health Center and upgrade other facilities.
Donohue is a member of HFMA’s Metro Philadelphia Chapter.
Sentara Healthcare promotes Melinda Hancock
Melinda S. Hancock, FHFMA, CPA, has been promoted to executive vice president at Sentara Healthcare, a 12-hospital health system based in Norfolk, Virginia. She remains chief administrative officer (CAO). Prior to joining Sentara, Hancock was the CAO and CFO at VCU Health System. She also previously was a partner with Dixon Hughes Goodman, LLP, where she helped lead the development of products related to the transformation to value-based reimbursement.
Hancock is a member of HFMA’s Virginia-DC Chapter and served as the Association’s 2015-16 National Chair.
Arbor Health taps Cheryl Cornwell as CFO
Cheryl Cornwell, MBA, is the new CFO at Arbor Health. Based in Morton, Washington, Arbor includes a critical access hospital, a rapid care clinic and three primary care clinics. Cornwell previously held CFO positions at both Lake Chelan Health in Chelan, Washington, and Lake Health District Hospital in Lakeview, Oregon. She is a member of HFMA’s Washington-Alaska Chapter.
