Ascension selects Saurabh Tripathi as new CFO

Ascension, a nonprofit Catholic health system based in St. Louis, Mo., recently announced that Saurabh Tripathi, MBA, has been tapped as its new CFO.

Tripathi brings more than 25 years of executive experience to the position, including time as CFO and treasurer of Highmark Health, where he led growth initiatives and increased access to care. Other previous roles include finance leadership positions with Fresenius Medical Care, General Electric and Procter & Gamble.

“We are thrilled to welcome Saurabh to Ascension as our new CFO,” said Joseph Impicciche, JD, MHA, CEO of Ascension. “His extensive background and expertise in managing large-scale operations and his visionary leadership are exactly what Ascension needs as we continue to evolve and expand our services.”

Liz Foshage

 Tripathi’s hiring follows the retirement announcement of current Ascension CFO Liz Foshage, CPA, who joined Ascension in 1992 and has held various financial positions with increasing responsibility through the years. Foshage and Tripathi will serve as co-CFOs until September to ensure a seamless transition.

Foshage is a member of HFMA’s Greater Heartland Chapter, and Tripathi currently is a member of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter. 


Shelly Soileau

Opelousas General hires Shelly Soileau as CFO

Shelly Soileau, MHA, has joined Opelousas General Health System as CFO of the 181-bed full-service medical center located in Opelousas, La. Soileau, a member of HFMA’s Louisiana Chapter, previously served as CFO at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou, La. Prior to that, she was the director of finance at LHC Group, Lafayette, La., responsible for financial operations of the company’s various service lines.


Stephen “Jan” Grigsby, Jr.

Stephen Grigsby has new CFO role at Southeast Georgia

Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick has a new vice president and CFO: Stephen “Jan” Grigsby, Jr., FHFMA, MHA. Grigsby, a member of HFMA’s Alabama Chapter, most recently served as CFO of Springhill Medical Center, a regional tertiary care center in Mobile, Ala. Before that, he was CFO at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Fla.


Anthony Saul

Grady Health promotes Anthony Saul

Anthony Saul, MBA, FACHE, has been promoted to senior executive vice president and COO/CFO for Grady Health System in Atlanta, one of the country’s largest safety-net health systems. Saul had served as Grady’s CFO since 2021. In the new role, he oversees day-to-day operations and continues to provide financial leadership. He is a member of HFMA’s Georgia Chapter.


Stephanie Schnittger

Stephanie Schnittger is new Luminis Health CFO

Stephanie Schnittger, CPA, is the new CFO of Luminis Health, a nonprofit regional health system serving 1.8 million people in Maryland’s Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties. Schnittger previously held senior leadership positions at both Sentara Health and Inova Health System. She is a member of HFMA’s Virginia-D.C. Chapter.
