CY 2020 OPPS/ASC Proposed Rule Summary

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the calendar year 2020 proposed rule for Medicare’s hospital outpatient prospective payment system (OPPS) and ambulatory surgical center (ASC) payment system on July 29, 2019, If finalized, policies in the proposed rule will generally go into effect on January 1, 2020, unless otherwise specified. The proposed rule was published in the August 9th issue of the Federal Register. The public comment period closes on September 27, 2019.
