HFMA’s Digital Annual Conference continues Aug. 12 and Aug. 14 with more virtual education for healthcare finance professionals

  • As part of their membership, HFMA members can review the content from the previous four 2020 Digital Annual Conference dates on demand for free. These sessions can be used for HFMA CHFP and FHFMA certification maintenance but do not qualify for CPE credits.

HFMA’s multidate Digital Annual Conference culminates in August with two days of relevant content for healthcare finance professionals. On Aug. 12, the focus is on actionable analytics, kicking off with an overview of Privia Health’s journey from descriptive to prescriptive analytics. In another session, Texas Health Resources shares how it uses predictive analytics for real-time cost management.

On Aug. 14, attendees will hear about actionable solutions for handling the changing healthcare landscape. The day begins with a session on the power of embedding the science of behavioral economics in current population health and revenue management offerings. In another session, three health system executives discuss why investment in AI is critical for healthcare organizations.

HFMA members can register for both days as part of their membership, and nonmembers can attend by joining HFMA. Members must register for each day of the event they wish to attend by visiting the HFMA Digital Annual Conference website.

August 12: Uncovering Actionable Insights

Not quite sure how analytics can help your organization? If you are working to secure the health of your organization in response to the upheaval brought on by the pandemic, the session “How to Optimize Data for Revenue Recovery in Your Health System” will offer much-needed information. Chris Hart and Brad Royer of eSolutions explain how leveraging direct access to Medicare’s Fiscal Intermediary Standard System can help drive analytics, reporting and reimbursement for your health system. 1:15 p.m. to 2:05 p.m. CT

August 14: The Big Picture

If you want to know more about behavioral economics, today’s featured general session, “Behavioral Economics to Drive the Last Mile of Health Engagement,” will provide answers. Join Karen Horgan, co-founder and CEO of VAL Health, as she shares an overview of the science of behavioral economics. She’ll also present case studies highlighting how behavioral economics influences stakeholder action in ways that can drive behavior change and engagement. 10 a.m. to 11:05 a.m. CT

Ever wonder how to make the best innovation initiative decisions? Join us for the panel discussion “What’s New in Acute Care Innovation Strategies?” to hear OSF Healthcare’s Stan Lynall, CPA, Ziegler’s Brian McGough and Ziegler LinkAge Funds’ Neil Borg discuss emerging trends and actual innovation applications that have been developed for and deployed by acute care providers. 11:15 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. CT

Struggling with the new value-based care payment models?
