President’s Message
HFMA Lone Star Chapter Members,
Thank you for the opportunity to lead the HFMA Lone Star Chapter. I’m humbled with sincere gratitude. We have an exceptional group of people aligned with serving others and positively impacting the healthcare finance and revenue cycle community.
We congratulate Tammy Walsh on a successful 2023/2024 year and celebrate the chapter’s accomplishments. Our joint conference with HFMA Oklahoma, The Red River Showdown, earned us the HFMA National Success Award for Engagement. More success included: Membership growth to 3K+ with 65% Providers, Summer/Winter/Women’s education events sold out, provider participation at education events increased to 40%+, 3 charities were served (Safe Haven, SkinVu, and the CHRISTUS Foundation), and the Golf Tournament was a success. Thank you, Tammy, for your leadership.
It’s an exciting and transformative time in healthcare and we’re on this journey together. As a chapter, we will focus on developing a sense of belonging and inclusion with all generations of leaders and nurture our future healthcare leaders. Thank you to the countless volunteers that make the HFMA Lone Star Chapter successful. “Daring leaders work to make sure people can be themselves and feel a sense of belonging.”- Brenee Brown.
“Energize and Elevate” is our chapter theme for 2024/2025 and it nicely compliments the HFMA National theme, “Sempre Avanti” – Always Moving Forward. As the 5th largest chapter, we will work together to provide exceptional education, service opportunities to help the community, mentorship/early careerist engagement, networking events, and support for life-saving local non-profits. Our educational content has been developed with feedback from our provider community to include: Technology, Financial Strategies, Innovation, Revenue Cycle Strategies, Leadership Growth, Collaboration, and Trusted Partnerships.
