West Virginia Chapter

President’s Welcome

My name is Amy Kirk and I work at Brown, Edwards & Company, L.L.P., where I’ve been employed for over 15 years.  Prior to this, I worked for over 15 years at our local Hospital.  During my career, I’ve been a member of the West Virginia Healthcare Financial Management Association (WVHFMA), and I’m truly honored to serve as the President of the WVHFMA for the 2024-2025 year.

First and foremost, I want to take this opportunity to thank our Leadership Team (which is made up of our Officers and Directors), as well as our Committee members, who all volunteer their time to make our Chapter a success.  Secondly, I want to take this opportunity to thank our Provider and Business Partners, because our Chapter would be unable to accomplish what we do without their support.  Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our members who make our Chapter whole.

The theme for HFMA’s National Chair for 2024-2025 is “Sempre Avanti” which means “Always Forward,” and this is how our Chapter plans to approach the 2024-2025 year as well.

Our 2024-2025 Chapter Success Plan includes three goals we’re  pursuing surrounding the following three categories – Value, Engagement, and Innovation as follows:

  • Value – To provide our members with the tools and resources they need through various educational and/or networking opportunities,  we plan to have two in-person multi-day educational/networking events in 2024-2025.   Our first in-person multi-day educational/networking event will be our Fall 2024 Conference scheduled for October 2-4, 2024 at Stonewall Resort.  Our second in-person multi-day educational/networking event  will be our Spring 2025 Conference scheduled for March 12-14, 2025 at The Greenbrier.  In addition,  we plan to have other in-person and virtual educational and/or networking opportunities during 2024-2025.
  • Engagement – To ensure that we can provide educational/networking events for our members and in turn, exposure for our Partners through the various networking opportunities they offer, we plan to increase our Provider and Business Partnerships for 2024-2025 through our annual Partnership Drive.
  • Innovation – To increase student involvement and to recruit more volunteers for our Chapter, we will utilize the scholarships/student memberships provided to our Chapter by HFMA through Region 4 for 2024-2025.

Again, I look forward to serving as President of our Chapter for the 2024-2025 year.

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions for our Chapter.

Thank you,

Amy Kirk
