Jessica Poston, Director of Strategic Pricing

Jessica Poston is a healthcare revenue cycle expert and recovering consultant with over 15 years of experience specialized in mid revenue cycle and pricing. She currently serves Carilion Clinic as Director of Strategic Pricing; responsible for setting system rates for both hospital and professional charges and managing the hospital chargemaster.  Jessica is a certified outpatient coder, past president of the VA/DC Chapter of HFMA, current HFMA Regional Executive for Region IV, and a graduate of Virginia Tech.  Jessica now resides in Roanoke, Virginia with her husband Joe and two children under five in a house under constant renovation.  Jessica loves to try new foods, play board games, and read absorbing fiction.

April York, Senior Director, Revenue Cycle Services

April York is the Sr. Director of Acute Revenue Cycle Service for Novant Health, Inc.  In this role, she is directly responsible for enhancing the process capability and ensuring the integrity of Novant Health’s acute revenue cycle system net revenue of $5 billion annually.  This encompasses sixteen acute care facilities located in North Carolina and Virginia, multiple imaging centers, surgical centers, provider-based clinics, hospice agencies and joint ventures. She has been with Novant Health since 2000.

She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from High Point University and her MHA at Appalachian State University.  She is an active member of the North Carolina Healthcare Financial Management Association.  She has served on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Chapter as president and is currently serving as Regional Executive 2 for Region IV of HFMA.  April has spoken at state, regional and national levels regarding healthcare revenue cycle topics of interest and participates in multiple healthcare industry forums. 

Brett McCone, Senior Vice President of Health Care Payment

As MHA’s Senior Vice President of Health Care Payment, Brett McCone works closely with Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC) staff and commissioners to develop fair and effective hospital rate setting policies and is an advocate for MHA’s member hospitals. Brett serves as a hospital field expert on reimbursement, financial policy, and legislative and regulatory matters. In addition to advocacy before the HSCRC, Brett addresses many important issues before the Maryland Health Care Commission, the Maryland Department of Health, and the Maryland General Assembly. 
 
Prior to joining MHA, Brett was a managing director in KPMG LLP’s Healthcare Advisory Services practice. At KPMG, Brett led major consulting engagements with some of the largest health care providers in the mid-Atlantic. A longtime member of the Maryland Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, Brett was Chapter President during the 2017-2018 year. 

Brett earned a Master of Health Administration from The Johns Hopkins University, and is a former member of the University’s Alumni Association governing body.
