The HFMA certifications are as follows: Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) – GCC, Certified Specialist Accounting & Finance (CSAF), Certified Specialist Business Intelligence (CSBI), Certified Specialist Physician Practice Management (CSPPM), Certified Specialist Payment & Reimbursement (CSPR) and Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA), which supersedes CHFP.

UAB Health System promotes Susan Jennings to CFO
HFMA Alabama Chapter member Susan Jennings, CPA, is the new CFO of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Health System. Jennings originally joined UAB in 2006 and previously served as CFO of UAB Hospital. Her 35 years’ experience within the healthcare industry also includes 21 years in several financial roles with Ascension Health in Birmingham, including vice president of Seton Health Corporation.
Tanner Wealand is new CFO at McPherson Center for Health
McPherson Center for Health, McPherson, Kansas, recently named Tanner Wealand, CHFP, CRCR, MBA, as CFO. He previously served as controller at Hutchinson (Kansas) Regional Medical Center, where he oversaw financial operations for the hospital and health system affiliates. Wealand is a member of HFMA’s Sunflower Chapter and will serve as its 2023-24 president.
