President’s Welcome
For years, I have contemplated the theme for my presidency, engaging in numerous discussions with past presidents from various chapters to answer one crucial question: “What do you wish you had done more of?” Their unanimous response was simple: more time. Bringing a chapter’s vision to life requires more than a single year.
As a first-generation American, I deeply appreciate the importance of building upon a legacy. Witnessing my immigrant parents’ hard work and perseverance as they navigated life in a new country instilled in me a profound respect for the legacy they established. This inspiration has shaped my theme: Honoring the Past to Empower the Future.
This year, we will see the dreams of our predecessors come to fruition. We aim to build upon the past and carry forward the legacy that has made our chapter strong. This legacy, founded on education, membership growth, engagement, and collaboration, has been the cornerstone of our success.
Here are some initiatives you can expect in the upcoming year:
- Expanding Education: We will offer diverse educational programs in innovative formats to meet the evolving needs of our members.
- Promoting Membership: We will find ways to provide membership access to those facing financial barriers, ensuring that everyone can benefit from being part of HFMA.
- Investing in the Future: We will develop programs and events to equip students and early careerists with the skills they need to excel.
We are fortunate to have selfless leaders who have transformed this chapter into more than just a professional organization; it is a family, a community where we learn, support, and grow together. I am honored to lead this incredible chapter and build upon its legacy.
This will be an exciting year, and I encourage everyone to get involved! We have introduced numerous micro-volunteering opportunities to allow members to contribute their skills flexibly. Please reach out if you are interested in volunteer opportunities or have any questions. Let’s make this year remarkable together!
