President’s Welcome
Arizona HFMA Chapter Members,
I am truly honored to serve as the 24-25 Arizona HFMA Chapter President in partnership with so many incredible leaders within our local community. I know firsthand the value and importance of the community and educational opportunities that form the foundation of HFMA. Whether you are new to the industry or tenured, I encourage you to take advantage of the benefits afforded as part of your membership. Arizona HFMA offers myriad opportunities to gain continuing education through certification bootcamps and challenges. Additionally, there are many ways to get involved within our welcoming community, whether it be event-specific or through ongoing committee-based support.
Mark Scher’s theme for the upcoming year, Sempre Avanti or “always forward” is a salient reminder of the mindset we must carry while navigating the diverse and ever-present challenges within healthcare. Inspired by the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army, we are called to move forward and advance our commitment to effective partnerships, sustainable and inclusive communities and strategic collaboration to overcome industry pressures.
I am honored to be part of the leadership continuum of Arizona HFMA, the core of which was formed by visionary presidents, strong committee leadership and enthusiastic members. It is their accomplishments and continued commitment to mentorship that has paved the way for our chapter’s success thus far. This coming year provides an opportunity to build on past successes, while creating a legacy that will benefit future leaders for many years to come.
To our incoming board members, thank you for volunteering your time and talent for the betterment of our chapter and community. I look forward to the successes and milestones we will reach this year. And to our esteemed business partners – your generous support of Arizona HFMA is what allows us to provide award-winning conferences and valued educational content and for that I am most grateful.
Thank you,
Kelly Bauer, MS, FHFMA
